Wow I haven’t updated here in awhile!

I haven’t posted art in a long time, I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed at work and am lucky if I scratch down some halfassed piece. Then I come here and see the beautiful works those on my friends list post and just wish upon a star.

Plus for some reason I get dozens of comments when I sand and paint a Star Wars helmet but almost nothing when I put 30 hours into digitally painting a picture. Go figure ;)
I’m not retiring from my code-monkey job any time soon.

Speaking of Star Wars the neighbouring Garrison the Great Lakes Garrison of the 501st has made me an honorary member. Thanks troops, you folks are great people and good friends. I look forward to the next time I can suit up again and make some kids days!

Projects I am working on – A New Hope StormTrooper costume, a robot for a Sci Fi Gallery and some tongue in cheek Star Wars Cartoons.

A few friends of mine on here Adam Withers and Comfort Love are making their own comic called the Uniques. It will be at Motor City Comic Con.

I’ll be the first to say I am not a flights in tights (Super heroe) comic Fan.
Give me horror comics, Dark Comics, Star Wars comics any day of the week.

That being said their work looks A-1 awesome, I will be buying the comic at MCCC, the art is top notch and the little I have read of the background story is excellent.
I’ve been deliberately NOT reading their updates so it is all a big surprise to me

P.S. To everyone on my watch list keep posting cat pictures (or puppy pictures) please, they really brighten up the day

A long time ago in a comic shop far far away...

The comic store that I do FCBD does monthly podcasts, mostly reviews of movies and comics with a lot of fun attached.

They invited me to their Star Wars episode.
It was really neat seeing how a production was put together.
They interviewed me bucket off then dubbed my voice over me in the bucket.

It was dang hot. The black costume did not show up well so I had 5 heat lamps on me the whole time. My fans did not make a difference.

However it was a lot of fun and without further ado:

Segment 1 of 4 – intro and a lot of spider man ranting

Segment 4 of 4 – more Star Wars review and Revenge of the Gunner Wink
Marty from the MWG is there too, the guys went to MCCC to do some filming [link]

Take care Robert Jordan =(

Robert Jordan, famed author of the Wheel of Time series of books, passed away yesterday afternoon at 58 years old. Jordan had a rare disease called Amyloidosis that causes the walls of the heart to thicken. At the time of his death he had published 11 books in the Wheel of Time series and was part way through writing the 12th and final installment. He has also published several other series, including several successful Conan novels.

Jordan is survived by cousin Wilson and wife Harriet.

Sites such as Dragonmount.com and WoTMaina.com will be offering information on where to send condolences and also on the future of WoT.

"Till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath,to spit in Sightblinder's eye on the last Day."

Well I finally got off my arse and started working on my TIE pilot costume

Day 1 – masking off the areas that I didn’t want to repaint (the frown, the cogs), sanding in preparation for painting

Day 2 – finishing the sanding

Day 3 – masking off the metal ear greeblies and painting.
I used Krylon Fusion and painted 4 microcoats on the bottom and the top

I let it dry in the sun but when I went in I brought it with me in case it got cold outside

It is now sitting on a book shelf curing (letting the paint set) for a week so I can do the final coat next weekend, if it is warm out

I will have pictures soon

I never would have thought
